Hey, this just in: four families (comprising 68 fonts) from the amazing folks at TypeTogether! Check out Tablet Gothic (42 fonts), Adelle Sans (14 fonts), Soleil (6 fonts) & Maiola (6 fonts).
Tablet Gothic, by TypeTogether co-founders José Scaglione and Veronika Burian, is a massive sans serif family of 42 fonts, originally intended for titles of publications both print and digital. Inspired in large part by the so-called “grotesque” sans serif typefaces of nineteenth-century Britain and Germany, its coordinated set of weights and widths makes it a modern and versatile type family suited for a wide range of web font duties.
Adelle Sans, also by José and Veronika, is the new sans serif counterpart to their popular and award-winning slab-serif typeface Adelle. In seven weights with matching italics, it is versatile and matched to its serifed counterpart.
Soleil is a geometric sans serif typeface designed by Wolfgang Homola. Unlike most geometric sans serifs, it has asymmetrical counters, making it look fresher, more dynamic and contemporary.
Maiola was the first commercial typeface by now-renowned type designer and educator Veronika Burian. Drawing on classic Czech type design for inspiration, she created a modern classic which has won many awards, including TDC (2004), Granshan (2005) and others. Maiola’s design is simultaneously classical, calligraphic and edgy, giving a unique flavor to any designer that chooses it.
