We have just released an update to the FontDropper 1000 that adds a few new features.

Click to Apply Font
When we came up with the FontDropper concept we were pretty sure that dragging and dropping fonts on large blocks of text or even the whole webpage was a very easy and fast way to see web fonts. But some people wanted to move between different fonts even faster–made sense to us. So we added the ability to click the text you want to apply the font to and then just start clicking away on the font icons in the interface. Amazing. Now it is even faster to see how web fonts change the look and feel of a webpage.
Drop Shadow and 3d Panel
Drop Shadows was just a nice little add-on that we thought might make viewing titles or headings on pages more fun. I really love the interface that we came up with for moving the shadow around. While we were in their we added a 3d component that mimics what you can do in CSS these days with repeating drop shadows.
Parent Child Nesting Improvements
Also we went in a tweaked a bit of how the parent to child relationships work between the nodes on a page. Now if you apply a font to a header and then try to apply another font to the whole page we ask you if you want to keep or replace any of the custom fonts nested in that node. If you say Yes we remove all the inner node changes and apply the new font, if say No we just leave those alone.
Auto-Updates
We have also implemented an auto-update method that will always update the FontDropper to the most recent version without having to clear your cache. This is just another way that we can get you more and more tools to play with web fonts from WebINK. Some of you might already be seeing the updates. If not you might need to clear your cache for the update to apply. If for some reason you need to get the bookmarklet code again just head over to the FontDropper 1000 page.
