Last week we were fortunate to play a part in the Future of Web Design event in New York City.

Future of Web Design, presentation by Jim KidwellI spoke during the main conference track about web fonts and how to select and implement the best web typography. I was flattered to be able to present in the same theater that normally hosts the fun puppet-based comedy and musical Avenue Q. It was a real kick to see my name up in lights in the theater.

If you were unable to make it to the event, here’s the slide deck from the presentation.

When I wasn’t presenting or attending the other excellent talks, I helped man our booth at the event, answering questions about web fonts and WebINK. Most often, as you can imagine, people were interested to see if their favorite font was included in the WebINK collection – Futura, Omnes and Trajan are always favorites.

The final day of the conference, Extensis Font Guru, Thomas Phinney presented a full-day web font workshop. This was the chance for attendees to delve into the nitty-gritty details about OS support, what makes a good web font, as well as get hands on implementation experience.

We look forward to being part of future events. Hope to see you there!
